Every week, Recall Knowledge recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, a preview of the Know Direction content of the week to come, and the director of operations, Ryan Costello, thoughts on the state of the network.
Keeping it short this week, I’m not feeling well. I am going for a COVID test later, but I am confident it’s just the cold by eldest daughter had last week (who was tested and it came back negative). Still, doing the responsible thing.
Unrelated to my illness, Perram and I will be taking this week off from the Know Direction podcast. As mentioned last week, we needed a break. However, we originally planned to take episode 246 off, two weeks from now. Then Paizo approached us about an announcement they wanted to make that week, and we decided to move our plans around.
This week, Loren Sieg and Vanessa Hoskins fill in for us. We hoped Bestiary 3 review PDFs would be available by now, but that wasn’t’ the case. So Loren and Vee are free to come up with whatever topic they feel like. I’m looking forward to hearing what they put together.
Something you won’t be hearing today, sadly, is the latest Adventurous. I just didn’t have the energy for it today, sorry all. And while I’m confessing to network content you won’t be seeing this week, I didn’t arrange for Bend The Knee guests, so there won’t be a new Bend The Knee blog on Friday. That relates to needing a break, not feeling sick. It’s been a week, and it’s only Monday morning.
Speaking of content, here’s a recap of what you might have missed last week from the Know Direction Network:
Recap of March 1st to 5th
What happened last week on knowdirectionpodcast.com and twitch.tv/knowdirection?
Monday, March 1st
After kicking the year off with a series of episodes about running Pathfinder for players with minimal RPG experience, Loren orchestrated a one shot featuring friends of mine in and out of the game industry. Before running the one shot, Luis wanted to run a session zero where we got to know each other’s characters and our players, namely myself, Loren, Stan!, Meg the Dweeb, and Eleanor Langthorne.
Recall Knowledge – March Break
By Ryan Costello
I talk about taking an episode of KD off, but it turns out not the episode I thought I’d be taking off!
Tuesday, March 2nd
Now that you’ve heard an example of a Luis run one, hear about what he and Loren think should go into a good session 0.
Fox’s Cunning – Fight Like a Fox Part 2
By Dustin Knight
More Pathfinder 2e combat maneuver cheat sheets from Dustin!
Wednesday, March 3rd
Clinton Boomer was one of the first five people I interviewed for the podcast. Back then, he was a ball of creative energy and a joy to talk to. Not much has changed.
Iconic Design: Vulpine Vanguard
By Alexander Augunas
The first week of March 2021 was big for kitsune from Paizo. Everyone knows kitsune came to Pathfinder 2e by way of the Lost Omens Ancestry Guide, but Starfinder also snuck them in through the Alien Character Deck. So Alex built his first Paizo-published Starfinder kitsune, making a vanguard.
Thursday, March 4th
Listen to our Valiant heroes problem solve!
Investing In: MCing Monsterhearts Live for VHC!
By Rob Pontious
What I like about Rob’s blog is the insight it provides into his gaming life. He isn’t just churning out reviews of tabletop RPGs that catch his fancy, he circles back to the ones he’s enjoyed, talking about the ways he’s played the games and what he’s learned.
Friday, March 5th
Monstrous Physique — Vision (PF2E)
By Luis Loza
What timing! The android comes to Pathfinder 2e the same week as the WandaVision finale, giving Luis the perfect tie in for a fantasy RPG version of Vision.
Preview of March 8th to March 12th
This is back to Block 1 of our 2-block schedule.
Monday, March 8th
Recall Knowledge – Getting By
By Ryan Costello
Tuesday, March 9th
This week, John and Ron talk alien species and alien monsters.
Andrew Marlowe shares GM and design advice for and from other game systems.
Wednesday, March 10th
Loren Sieg and Vanessa Hoskins fill in for Perram and I. I wish I could take credit for the first female cohosted episode of Know Direction landing on the same week as International Women’s Day, but that’s just a happy accident.
This week, Adam McCrimmon, Jordan Miller and Lauren Nepomuceno of XYZ Game Labs join Danielle Reynolds, Ben Moy, and Denice to talk ArchRavels, a pattern building card game about the fiber arts.
Randal Meyer brings a Pathfinder campaign setting to life, one blog post at a time.
Thursday, March 11th
The latest episode of Know Direction, the Know Direction Network’s flagship podcast.
Andrew Sturtevant creates Starfinder content, and shares insight into his decisions and his struggles along the way.
