Now You Know – No, You Don’t

Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.

I’m in a position that’s become very familiar for me lately: I have plans in motion, but nothing is ready to announce.

There’s three plans related to the network in particular that I’m excited about. One is pretty far along in the planning stages, which is impressive since it’s the newest of the three projects.

Sadly, there isn’t much more to say. I’m the worst tease, I know, because I can’t even make it fun. But when I tried to think up a topic for today’s editorial, I kept coming back to content I’m not ready to talk about.

Speaking of the content, here’s a recap of what went up on the Know Direction Network last week:

Presenting – Esther Wallace

Esther Wallace and the Chromythica Pathfinder 2e actual play came to my attention when I set up a Know Direction account on Mastodon. I’m glad John sat down with her and found out more about her podcast, as well as her design work, and how she advocates for disability accommodation in gaming.

Investing In: PAX Unplugged 2022
By Rob Pontious

I attended my first Gen Con because I heard podcasts talk about it, and I attended my first PaizoCon when I interviewed Tim Nightengale about it. The way Rob talks about PAX Unplugged -a con I have been to, but only as a vendor- makes me want to check it out as an attendee.

Ryan Costello

What started as one gamer wanting to talk about his love of a game grew into a podcast network. Ryan founded what would become the Know Direction Podcast network with Jason "Jay" Dubsky, his friend and fellow 3.5 enthusiast. They and their game group moved on to Pathfinder, and the Know Direction podcast network was born. Now married and a father, Ryan continues to serve the network as the director of logistics and co-host of Upshift podcast, dedicated to the Essence20 RPG system he writes for and helped design. You can find out more about Ryan and the history of the network in this episode of Presenting:
