The Avengers: Infinity War hype continues and I’m not hopping off the hype train just yet! This week, I return to space to tackle a furry little friend that will help complement an entry I did about a year ago. Groot is getting lonely so it’s time to bring in Rocket!
This small furry creature resembles a common raccoon standing on two legs. It is wearing armor and holds a massive firearm.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Cybernetic Enhancements (Ex) Rocket’s various augmentations increase his physical and mental abilities such as increased strength, reflexes, and senses. The enhancements grant him 60 foot darkvision, DR 5/—, and allow him to use twice his Strength modifier to damage with his natural attacks. He treats all skills as class skills.
Laser Cannon (Ex) Rocket wields a unique firearm made of advanced technology that fires powerful blasts of energy. Firing the laser cannon requires a standard action, but the cannon never needs reloaded. The laser cannon has a range of 120 feet and its damage is half electricity and half force. The laser cannon is treated as a magic weapon for the purposes of damage reduction.
Rocket is a genetically enhanced furred creature from a distant galaxy. Due to various experiments and physical enhancements, Rocket’s body is far more powerful than other creatures of its kind. He boasts a superior intellect, enhanced strength, increased speed, and a far hardier body capable of taking severe punishment. His genetic enhancements also grant him a superior disposition towards combat, engineering, and spacecraft piloting. Now, Rocket uses his superior skills as a mercenary, traveling the cosmos to take on bounties and other jobs. He is usually found with his partner Groot.
Monstrous Origins
Rocket Raccoon is a character that I feel a lot of people will be familiar with nowadays. This isn’t a sentence I would have imagined myself typing five years ago, but the power of Marvel is strong. I decided to go with the movie version of Rocket, mostly as it’s the version with which I’m most familiar. I made sure to add the necessary basics like Rocket’s enhanced abilities and a big gun. Rocket has used all manner of gun and explosive in the movies and rather than try to cover everything he’s ever used, I decided to keep things simple. Rocket is a pretty versatile character, however, and any number of weapon and abilities would work well for him. I recommend scouring the Technology Guide and giving him anything that seems fitting there.
That’s it for this week! If you end up introducing Rocket into your game or you have any request for a future Monstrous Physique, please drop me a line at KnowDirection@hotmail.com.
