Pathfinder Character Sheets – Round II

PF-2 by Tricky Bob

David in Paizo’s unofficial chat suggested an 8th level witch for the mysterious PF-2. Will the witch claim another victim?
Sometimes it’s the little things. I have never before seen a section on a character sheet for player’s names and the names of their characters. In low RP games, “what’s your name again?” comes up as often as “what’s this feat do?” This section is especially useful at a con or gaming store one shot. Such a creative inclusion makes me want to like PF-2. A reviewer is supposed to be unbiased but sometimes I can not help but root for the underdog.
In this case, that’s the only creative thing the underdog has to offer. Like Modified Neceros’ Character Sheet, it does some of the calculations for you. Some is worse than none. It means I have to double check every section to see if I need to input something manually or if it is already calculated for me. Most frustrating was the skills, where the only way to denote a class skill is with a check box that can’t be checked.
My enthusiasm for PF-2 very quickly drained. No space for familiars was unfortunate, especially rolling up a class whose familiar is more integral than any other. Very little room was provided for spells, and caster info shared pages with non-caster info. Strangest of all, two slightly modified pages were included to track wand and staff charges. What player group needs a 2” box to keep track of spells but two pages to track magic item charges? Thinking back to every party my group has ever run, I can not think of any that could fill up one of these pages together, let one a single character.
PF-2 is a series of ideas that do not hold together enough to work as a character sheet.

Perram brings a knowledge of and love for Golarion to Know Direction, something any Pathfinder podcast is lacking without.
