Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, as the director of operations, Ryan Costello, shares his thoughts on the state of the network.
Sorry about the unscheduled absence. As I mentioned in the last Now You Know, my dad was in the hospital. At the time, I said it was “projected to be a manageable blockage in his lung”. Ends up, he needed a quintuple bypass. They didn’t even know he’d need five bypasses until they started a scheduled triple bypass, and made the call mid-surgery. Fortunately, he’s now recovering comfortably at home, and the whole procedure didn’t cost our family a fortune because of Canadian socialized medicine. I don’t care that I’m getting political, the higher the number of family members I still have rises thanks to MediCare, the more I appreciate it for the gift that Canadians give ourselves.
My dad and Now You Know are not all that’s back. After Luis left an 8-month hole in our lives, Legend Lore returns with a new episode and a new cohost. Jessica Redekop, cast member of Valiant and our play through Troubles In Otari, and a contributor on the majority of Pathfinder 2e sourcebooks. She brings rules and product knowledge comparable to the departed (from the show, he’s fine) Luis, and a love of Pathfinder to match regular cohost Loren Sieg.
That’s not all. Next week, a new era of the Know Direction podcast begins.
Esther Wallace and Navaar Jackson join the Know Direction Network as the new hosts of the Know Direction podcast. Esther GMs the Pathfinder 2E actual play Chromythica, advocates for disability inclusivity, and designed Front Porch, a worldbuilding game about gossip. She recently appeared on an episode of Presenting.
Navaar hosts the Secret Nerd Podcast, and is a cast member on the upcoming An Unwavering Force, a Star Wars actual play run on Pathfinder 2e with an all BIPOC cast. He appeared on last year’s Know Direction Special Episode: February 2022 Black Excellence Showcase.
