Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.
A few years ago, Randal ran a Pathfinder Society play-by-post series on the Know Direction Discord server for Know Direction staff and listeners. At the time, I marveled at the innovative RPG robot he built for the game, allowing us to switch between speaking in character and out of character, look up rules, roll checks with results automatically calculated, and other bells and whistles I would expect from a virtual tabletop.
Randal never stopped working on this robot, known as RPG Sage. He’s shared it to its own website, setup an RPG Sage Twitter account, as well as an RPG Sage Patreon. He and I recently discussed the future of Sage, which at least includes Essence20 implementation. It’s exciting to periodically get updates on this robot’s evolution. If RPG Sage develops sentience and takes over humanity, we can all look forward to immersive only RPG experience!
I guess that’s it. Just a quick shout out to one of our content creator’s side projects.
Speaking of content creators, here’s a recap of the Know Direction Network content from last week:
Recap of June 27th to July 1st
What happened last week on knowdirectionpodcast.com and twitch.tv/knowdirection?
Monday, June 27th
Luis, Vanessa, and gust co-host Randal look at the psychic of tomorrow, today! Well, this time last week.
Our Intrepid Heroes fight a suit of powered armour. Surprisingly, most of the powered armor art I found has visible organic material sticking out of it somewhere. So I decapitated a kasatha for the social media share. I think I did a good job. Oh, and it sounded like a fun fight. Y’know, not to make an entry about Intrepid Heroes all about me.
Now You Know – Friday Content
By Ryan Costello
Friday? More like Friyay! Unless you’re sad that Know Direction doesn’t release content on most Fridays. Then it’s Friboo.
Tuesday, June 28th
Damnit, Danielle! I own enough board games! But here she is again, informing me about another cool game. This time, it’s a card game that uses paint strokes on transparent cards to create art.
Eldritch Excursion – Red Dead Runelord
By Nate Wright
Nate challenges fans who don’t like guns in fantasy to pick one of the new magical firearms he designed for this article and draw!
Wednesday, June 29th
I appreciated the dynamic of the three hosts for this episode, since Vanessa hadn’t read the playtest version and Randal had but he hadn’t read the preview version. Then there’s Luis, who knows more about the psychic than the other two combined, thanks to his insight as a Pathfinder developer.
Behind The Screens – Diversity Makes A Better Campaign
By Ryan Costello
Having seen a twist on a popular show coming a mile away because they only included a certain type of diversity to serve the plot, I urged my fellow GMs to include diversity for the sake of a more organically believable world.
Thursday, June 30th
Fans have heard about The Star Chamber, Paizo’s legendary Starfinder think tank. Well Jason takes us on a virtual tour of what to him is his office at work, but to us is where the science fantasy happens!
Friday, July 1st
Alex and Dustin join the conversation, so it starts with their questions about the psychic before drifting towards Starfinder stuff.
Preview of July 4th to July 8th
This is back to Block 2 of our 2-block schedule.
Monday, July 4th

Nothing like guest hosting a fun episode of Know Direction to remind me how much I love podcast hosting.
