Now You Know – Busy Again

Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.

Sorry folks, I’m swamped with work and freelance. As you may have noticed with the lack of an Adventurous release last week, I’m going to be hit or miss with my Network responsibilities for the near future. That said, if you had to choose between my next installment of Behind The Screens coming out this week and the first episode of the new Adventurous season coming out next week, do you have a preference? Let me know what network content you’d prefer I prioritize in the KD Discord or in a reply to this post on social media.

Speaking of our content, here’s a recap of everything that came out last week on the Know Direction Network:

Valiant Episode 28: In Which They Do Talk With A Skeleton

I burst out laughing when I read the title of episode 28, a follow-up to Valiant episode 26’s In Which They Don’t Talk With A Skeleton.

Now You Know – Young and Adventurous
By Ryan Costello

I announced the return of Adventurous -which I didn’t manage to follow through with and I’m not happy about that- with an incredible play on words -which I’m very much happy about.

Fox’s Cunning – Tracking the Talismans: Part 1

Presenting – Nicole Lindroos

I believe Presenting – Gamers Making Games has two distinct audiences:

  1. Listeners who want to know more about their favourite game industry contributors;
  2. Listeners who want to know more about the game industry.

As much as listeners who fall into the former category should enjoy this interview with Nicole Lindroos of Green Ronin, GAMA, and much more, it’s jam and jelly for listeners in the latter category. Real insightful.

More Lore – Expanding Lore
By Scott Young

Scott talks about using the setting to take a PFS scenario, remove the Pathfinder Society elements, and replace them with relevant, interesting content. He uses the adventure he ran for the Adventurous crew as an example, but avoids spoiling the adventure for listeners.

Legend Lore 038 — Ultimate Swordfighter Planning

Behind the scenes, Loren’s been planning a tournament to declare the greatest swordfighter build in all of Pathfinder 2e. This episode’s a long time coming, and the start of what I imagine will be a fun series of episodes.

Investing In: i’m sorry did you say street magic? part 1
By Rob Pontious

And i’m sorry, spell check, but the book’s title is all lower case, so the miniscule i isn’t a mistake.

Preview of February 7th to February 11th

Block 1 of our 2-block schedule.

Know Direction 269 Live – Queerfinder Breakdown

As soon as Pathfinder Infinite was announced, chatter started about exploring the queer side of Golarion. Probably before Infinite was announced, honestly, but Infinite finally gave the idea a platform. The result was Queerfinder, an anthology magazine that’s currently #1 on the Pathfinder Infinite Best Selling list. I’m looking forward to hearing Perram, Luis, and Vanessa interview with Grady and Theo about the journey and success of Queerfinder.

Game Design Unboxed 30: Summit

Danielle speaks with Conor McGoey, the founder of Inside Up Games, the designer behind Summit, and my booth neighbour the one time my day job sent me to Germany for Essen. Summit, a 3D game about mountain climbing, has real table presence and I would have bought a copy if he was selling and not just promoting his upcoming Kickstarter.

Behind The Screens – Great Responsibility
By Ryan Costello

Continuing my series on the basics of GMing, with the privileges of GM power out of the way, it’s time to cover GM responsibilities.

Now you know,
Ryan Costello

Ryan Costello

What started as one gamer wanting to talk about his love of a game grew into a podcast network. Ryan founded what would become the Know Direction Podcast network with Jason "Jay" Dubsky, his friend and fellow 3.5 enthusiast. They and their game group moved on to Pathfinder, and the Know Direction podcast network was born. Now married and a father, Ryan continues to serve the network as the director of logistics and co-host of Upshift podcast, dedicated to the Essence20 RPG system he writes for and helped design. You can find out more about Ryan and the history of the network in this episode of Presenting:
