Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.
Two weeks ago, in February 21st’s Now You Know – Happy Birthday Dustin, I said:
If I’m being honest, I worry that dedicating a post to Dustin’s birthday may set expectations that I give ever Know Direction staff member a shout out on their birthday. I’m not against it, except that statistically, there’s about a Know Direction staff birthday every other week. Practically, it doesn’t work out that way since three of us are born the same week in July, of course.
I stand by my assertion that I can’t to shout out to every network member on their birthday, but I’m shamelessly willing to play favourites and make an exception for Perram.
Perram celebrated his birthday this past Friday. What could be more appropriate than Perram being born on the day that would become known as International GM’s Day. Not only has he sat behind the GM screen for hundreds of gamers over the years, for probably a similar amount of game time, but he exemplifies the benevolent and creative qualities that make the best GMs.
Perram gives more of himself to the network than any other member. And unlike the majority of us, he’s not establishing game designer credentials when he does it. Perram’s contributions to the network are and have always been purely for his love of Pathfinder and tabletop RPGs, the Know Direction Network, and our fans.
That said, Perram’s been burning a candle for this network for over a decade nonstop. He needs a break. So Perram will be taking the month of March off. He’ll still appear on Adventurous episodes, because they’re already recorded, but Luis and Vanessa will be hosting the next two Know Direction podcasts (including one tonight), and I’ll figure out what I’m doing for this month’s Upshift.
Here’s wishing Perram a well-deserved rest from all of his contributions to the Know Direction Network.
Speaking of the Know Direction Network, here’s a recap of the content that came out in the last week:

Downshift… 2? 1?
Downshift, the Upshift aftershow, falls victim to my struggles with the new show’s numbering convention. Oh well. Lucas was the only Patron in the live audience for this episode, so we talked about whatever he wanted to hear about, like iTunes’ fall from the top of the podcatcher hill, and what’s up with the bright blue, limited articulation Snake Eyes he saw going for $20?
