Every week, Recall Knowledge recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, a preview of the Know Direction content of the week to come, and the director of operations, Ryan Costello, thoughts on the state of the network.
Due to Thanksgiving commitments with my family, I missed yesterday’s Recall Knowledge. Normally, I’d give myself the week off. It’s a holiday, after all. But there’s something special on the Know Direction Network this week, and I didn’t want to overlook it.
Introducing: Infinite Possibilities
Weeks in the work, the Know Direction staff put together the guide to Pathfinder Infinite and Starfinder Infinite. What do you need to consider before participating? How do you get involved? What makes an RPG product stand out?
Alex Augunas acted as project manager on this project, with many of the talented Know Direction staffers participating. They shared their experiences as freelancers, designers, developers, publishers, and more in a series of articles launching tomorrow, Wednesday, October 13th. This series -which Alex brilliantly named Infinite Possibilities- represents a different kind of initiative for the network, tapping into the wealth of talent and experience of our staff.
If you plan on participating in Pathfinder Infinite and Starfinder Infinite, I highly recommend you carve out time this week to read the entire Infinite Possibilities series. It will improve your product.
And it’s not the only Network content to look forward to. But first, here’s a recap of the network content from last week at the Know Direction Network:

Recall Knowledge – An Essential Start
By Ryan Costello
I pointed out ways in which October 1st’s Geek Together – Essence20 Essentials set the tone for future Essence20 coverage on the Network.
Perram and I kicked off our participation in Paizo’s Gen Con Online 2021 seminars with our interview with Jason Bulmahn.
Jason was one of the first Paizo staffers I ever interviewed. I didn’t know it when we recorded this, but it’s probably the last time I’ll interview him.

After touching on it last episode, John and Ron take a longer, more in depth look at Starfinder Infinite.
Although my interest in campaign material steadily grew over the years since getting into Pathfinder, the quality of the Lost Omens line accelerated that interest to new heights. It’s always exciting to hear future plans for the line.
Wednesday, October 6th
Know Direction Network staff members Vanessa Hoskins and Owen K.C. Stephens joined us to talk about their Pathfinder Infinite plans, and share why they’re so excited for Pathfinder’s new community content program.
The Pathfinder RPG side of the content preview at Gen Con, with an emphasis on Book of the Dead.
Thursday, October 7th
I probably say “I had a lot of fun with this episode” for most episodes of Know Direction, but any opportunity to talk with gregarious, enthusiastic, and informed folx like Vanessa and Owen is guaranteed to be a good time.
Adventures have long helped Pathfinder stand out from the pack of fantasy RPGs, and from the sounds of this seminar, will continue to.

If I’m being honest, not my finest Private Sanctum. Sorry to our familiars. Unless listening to me struggle through tiredness amuses you. Then this might be the greatest episode of Patron’s Private Sanctum ever!
Nothing like a space train heist!
This was probably the most poignant seminar at Gen Con this year, being the first diversity panel to celebrate the success of Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse, but coming shortly after #paizoaccountability brought upper management’s issues with diversity (and hesitation about Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse, specifically) to light.
I was confused when I saw Luis’ latest article, since I was pretty sure Pathfinder 2e already had ifrit. It does, but not the Final Fantasy version of ifrit, which is what this article is about.

This is back to Block 1 of our 2-block schedule.
