Recall Knowledge – Announcing: Infinite Possibilities

Every week, Recall Knowledge recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, a preview of the Know Direction content of the week to come, and the director of operations, Ryan Costello, thoughts on the state of the network.

Due to Thanksgiving commitments with my family, I missed yesterday’s Recall Knowledge. Normally, I’d give myself the week off. It’s a holiday, after all. But there’s something special on the Know Direction Network this week, and I didn’t want to overlook it.

Introducing: Infinite Possibilities

Weeks in the work, the Know Direction staff put together the guide to Pathfinder Infinite and Starfinder Infinite. What do you need to consider before participating? How do you get involved? What makes an RPG product stand out?

Alex Augunas acted as project manager on this project, with many of the talented Know Direction staffers participating. They shared their experiences as freelancers, designers, developers, publishers, and more in a series of articles launching tomorrow, Wednesday, October 13th. This series -which Alex brilliantly named Infinite Possibilities- represents a different kind of initiative for the network, tapping into the wealth of talent and experience of our staff.

If you plan on participating in Pathfinder Infinite and Starfinder Infinite, I highly recommend you carve out time this week to read the entire Infinite Possibilities series. It will improve your product.

And it’s not the only Network content to look forward to. But first, here’s a recap of the network content from last week at the Know Direction Network:

Gen Con Online 2021 – Know Direction Interview: Jason Bulmahn

Perram and I kicked off our participation in Paizo’s Gen Con Online 2021 seminars with our interview with Jason Bulmahn.

Jason was one of the first Paizo staffers I ever interviewed. I didn’t know it when we recorded this, but it’s probably the last time I’ll interview him.

Gen Con Online 2021 – Pathfinder Tales of Lost Omens: What’s Next

Although my interest in campaign material steadily grew over the years since getting into Pathfinder, the quality of the Lost Omens line accelerated that interest to new heights. It’s always exciting to hear future plans for the line.

Know Direction 260 – Pathfinder Infinite For Authors and Publishers

Gen Con Online 2021 – Industry Spotlight: Engaging Diverse Voices

This was probably the most poignant seminar at Gen Con this year, being the first diversity panel to celebrate the success of Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse, but coming shortly after #paizoaccountability brought upper management’s issues with diversity (and hesitation about Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse, specifically) to light.

Monstrous Physique — Ifrit (PF2E)

I was confused when I saw Luis’ latest article, since I was pretty sure Pathfinder 2e already had ifrit. It does, but not the Final Fantasy version of ifrit, which is what this article is about.

Now you know,
Ryan Costello

Ryan Costello

What started as one gamer wanting to talk about his love of a game grew into a podcast network. Ryan founded what would become the Know Direction Podcast network with Jason "Jay" Dubsky, his friend and fellow 3.5 enthusiast. They and their game group moved on to Pathfinder, and the Know Direction podcast network was born. Now married and a father, Ryan continues to serve the network as the director of logistics and co-host of Upshift podcast, dedicated to the Essence20 RPG system he writes for and helped design. You can find out more about Ryan and the history of the network in this episode of Presenting: http://knowdirectionpodcast.com/2021/01/presenting-ryan-costello/
