PaizoCon 2017 012 – Cartoons Made Me a Better GM

Welcome to the Know Direction podcast network’s PaizoCon 2017 seminar coverage!

012 – Cartoons Made Me a Better GM
Cartoons from the 1980s and 1990s were simplistic moral dramas used to sell cheap toys to children, yet they’re fondly remembered. In this panel, we’ll look at the simplified narrative structure, exaggerated characters, and memorable traditions of older cartoons and talk about how these simple elements can make for a stronger and more fun experience at the game table.
Speakers: Crystal Frasier, Amanda Hamon Kunz, Mark Moreland

Ryan Costello

What started as one gamer wanting to talk about his love of a game grew into a podcast network. Ryan founded what would become the Know Direction Podcast network with Jason "Jay" Dubsky, his friend and fellow 3.5 enthusiast. They and their game group moved on to Pathfinder, and the Know Direction podcast network was born. Now married and a father, Ryan continues to serve the network as the director of logistics and co-host of Upshift podcast, dedicated to the Essence20 RPG system he writes for and helped design.
