Perram, Alex, and James kick off the first episode of Know Direction: Beyond to review the Starfinder Core Rulebook.
Good Evening Gentlemen,
Congrats on the new show, I am looking forward to future episodes. Now onto the comments. . .
1) At Alex How long have you been playing Starfinder and what differences have you noticed between Beta and Final. Also please note when you are saying your Starfinder Stories please say whether or not you were using final or Beta rules. Can you make a list of changes?
2) If you could please keep the personal stories to a minimum during the topic discussion unless it specifically has to do with the subject or move those to banter. It was hard to follow some of the chapter reviews with the story interrupts in the middle. It got better towards the end.
3) I really like the cast of the show and can’t wait to see how the dynamic works out.
Thank you for all you do,
Lucas Servideo
When you end the show with “Go Beyond” and I’m like… “now say Plus Ultra. Say it!”

But yeah. Great review! I’m happy to hear your opinions about the state of classes, especially when comparing them to the opinions of my local PFS lodge. It also makes me want to try and make an Engineer and try to hold my own on the field.
It was really hard for us to not say ‘Plus Ultra.’
Also, I think even with the problems the Engineer has, Starfinders math is such that even they can do well. The game as it stands doesn’t have a lot of wiggle room for power gaming, and makes it hard to accidentally make under powered characters. So while the Engineer certainly falls behind in areas it shouldn’t, it isn’t as bad off as some 3.5 or PF classes were when compared to top tier performers.
