Every week, Recall Knowledge recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, a preview of the Know Direction content of the week to come, and the director of operations, Ryan Costello, thoughts on the state of the network.
Last week, as a last minute decision, Perram and I decided that week’s scheduled Geek Together would cover the Essence20 Rolepaying System and the Hasbro licensed games it runs. The upcoming changes to the network revolve around my involvement in Renegade Game Studios’ new games like Power Rangers, G.I. JOE, Transformers, and My Little Pony, and it felt like a good change to trial run our upcoming Essense20 podcast.
I loved it. Obviously Perram and I have been cohosting podcasts and geeking out together for years, so no surprise that we could chat about the brands we grew up on for two hours. What made this especially fun was turning the G.I. Joe background noise from our Pathfinder podcasts into the main focus of the conversation.
Perram messaged me to let me know he received a lot of positive feedback on that aspect specifically. So that’s going to factor into how we plan the new show before its January debut. If there’s anything you would like from our Essence20 content, or other content you’d like to see the network cover, now’s a perfect time to share your ideas.
Speaking of Know Direction Network content, here’s a recap of the network content from last week at the Know Direction Network:

Legend Lore 033 — Mwangi Expanse, Part 3
Proving that time feels like it sets its own pace and we are at its whim, Luis and Loren conclude their deep dive into Pathfinder Lost Omens – The Mwangi Expanse -a book that feels well established now but is somehow still the latest hardcover release in the Lost Omens line – by looking at the new ancestries. I especially liked hearing where the idea for the three most… counterintuitive ancestries (Conrasus, Golomas, and Shisks) came from.

Gen Con Online 2021 – Catching Up with Paizo Organized Play
I’ve heard great things lately about how smoothly Organized Play is running, which makes me feel good as a former Venture Officer. I’m not involved anymore and haven’t been for years, and part of me misses it, even though I don’t realistically have the time to get involved anymore.

Gen Con Online 2021 – Know Direction Interview: Jason Bulmahn
So, this was tough. We were only a few days from the Customer Service staff changes that prompted Jessica Price’s indicting Tweets about Paizo, which named Jason Bulmahn specifically. Perram and I had a day or two to react and decide if we would go forward with our Gen Con seminar plans. If we did, what would we do about the first of those seminars being this one?
We decided we’d swallow the cocktail of mixed emotions we were brewing and try to get through the weekend.
Jason chose to open the interview by addressing the allegations, and referencing the statement he’s just put out. A good start. Then technical difficulties crashed the stream. When we came back, Jason reiterated his statement. I appreciated his choice to make sure his statement wasn’t lost in the crash, and that helped alleviate a lot of tension going into the interview.
