Find out what is happening this month at knowdirectionpodcast.com
You look like someone who could handle a glimpse of the future. Care to see what’s in the cards for August at the know Direction podcast?
Any month with the best four days in gaming (http://www.gencon.com) is destined to be a big month for gamers, and we foresee GenCon coverage smiling on the gamer who is ready to smile back. What’s more, there will be guidance even for Pathfinder enthusiasts who did not know they were lost. Finally, expect more change in someone or something you recently saw change for the better.
Okay, showing our hands a bit more, many of us here at knowdirectionpodcast.com are super excited about all things Harrow. So much so, we are dedicating August to all things Harrow. Such as:
- The debut of Guidance, a thrice weekly blog by the Everyman Gamer Alex Augunus, featuring an Iconic Design of card casting X-Man Gambit, made possible by the recent release of Pathfinder Player Companion – The Harrow Handbook (August 1st);
- Two Private Sanctuary episodes dedicated to harrowing: Private Sanctuary 245 – Harrow Flavour with Cathy Dolan, releasing August 11th; Private Sanctuary 246 – Harrow Crunch with Alex Augunas, releasing August 25th;
- A Know Direction special Banter segment, in which Perram and I predict what the next five years will be like for Paizo, Pathfinder, and Pathfinder Enthusiasts, and a review of Pathfinder Player Companion – The Harrow Handbook (recording live August 6th, releasing on the site August 13th);
- GenCon coverage, which is basically a Pathfinder crystal ball disguised as convention seminars;
- More to come!
Before Cathy decided to play a Harrower in Carrion Crown, an Adventure Path that uses the Harrow Deck as a thematic action point system, I was, at best, aware of Harrow stuff. There was the Harrower in Pathfinder Campaign Setting – Inner sea World Guide, the in-game Harrow deck in that book’s equipment chapter, and the IRL Harrow Deck you could buy. Maybe there was enough material to cover in a podcast, but certainly not enough to dedicate knowdirectionpodcast.com’s first month to. But now I know, after spending over a year playing alongside her Harrower Opal, the closer one examines this small part of Pathfinder lore and mechanics, the more amazing material one uncovers. Pathfinder’s mystical fortune-telling cards can inspire dozens of different characters and influence adventures and even entire campaigns.
Not every article or every second of every podcast will be dedicated to our theme, but I encourage everyone to check back often to see how else the Harrow has influenced us this August.
Your fortune:
You learn more teaching than doing, about your subject, your student, and yourself.
So – a really Harrowing August then. Looking forward too it.
Woot, I will cenaritly put this to good use!
