It’s been a long time coming, but I have an announcement.
I am in an ongoing Pathfinder campaign.
It’s been about five years since Vanessa Hoskins ran me, Perram, and a selection of friends of the network through Abomination Vaults before the game unfortunately fell apart. It’s the only non-actual play ongoing Pathfinder campaign I played in since leaving my longtime game group to launch Adventurous in 2018.
That’s always been the weirdest part of being a hobbiest influencer and game designer. The more professional opportunities I get in other areas of this hobby, the less time I have for gaming. With my focus being on Essence20 lately, including playing in the Energon Protocals podcast on the Headcast Podcast Network, playing in a Pathfinder campaign moved from a huge part of my life to my dream journal.
Well now I get to rip that page out and move it to my reality journal! My friend Will, who listeners might remember from Know Direction 244 – How To Host Online Players At Home, put together a roughly monthly game at his place. Instead of using Golarion, he home brewed a campaign setting. I’m a bit disappointed that I don’t get to revisit a world I know and love, but even after only a couple of sessions, he’s shown how much thought he’s put into his setting.
Despite the title of the latest blog, I will not be going too far into telling you about my character this time, other than to say I built a druid 100% because I picked up pine-scented dice at Gen Con 2023 and I am so excited to be in an in person game where I get to use them to their full potential. I’ll probably use updates on the campaign in future Now You Knows when I don’t have other content for the editorial.
