Effective immediately, Owen KC Stephens (yes, THE OWEN KC STEPHENS) joins the Know Direction Network.

Owen Goes Beyond

Owen joins us as a staff member and the new host of Know Direction Beyond, the Starfinder news, reviews, and interviews podcast. His past position as the Starfinder Design Lead for Paizo makes him clearly overqualified for this role, but we aren’t going to turn down a metaphoric doctor just because the position only calls for a metaphoric high school degree.

Owen has previously appeared multiple times on Know Direction, Know Direction Beyond, and recently on Geek Together, as well as dozens of appearances in GenCon and PaizoCon seminar recordings. He joins an illustrious group of current and past Paizo employees working with the network as staff or actual play cast, including Luis Loza, Crystal Frasier, Jason Keeley, and Amanda Hamon.

When I was interviewed for Rite Publishing’s Pathways #19 in 2012, I cited Owen KC Stephens as the RPG industry professional I aspire to be compared to. At the time I was referring to his professionalism, workrate, and creativity, but the more I get to know him, the more that applies to him as a person as well. If there is anyone in this hobby and industry more deserving of that praise, I can’t think of them.

Between Owen and the ever expanding roster of incredibly talented individuals that make up Know Direction’s staff, I feel as proud of what Know Direction has grown into as I feel privileged to be a part of it.

Owen KC Stephens is an RPG design and development luminary, having been the Starfinder Design Lead for Paizo, and having worked on Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition, Black Company RPG, Wheel of Time RPG, Thieves’ World RPG, Dungeons & Dragons (four editions and counting!), and more. So much more. He is also an entertaining, informative, a captivating story teller, and a wonderful human being.

ABOUT KNOW DIRECTION

The Know Direction Network is a Pathfinder and Starfinder news, reviews, interviews, and actual play podcast and blog network. Wednesdays we record podcasts live on Twitch, including our flagship Know Direction Pathfinder podcast, the Know Direction Beyond Starfinder podcast, and our general interest hangouts Geek Together. Monday to Friday, we publish on or two of our dozen tabletop RPG blogs from some of the most knowledgeable and passionate members of the community. On alternating Mondays we release the next chapters of our actual play podcasts: Adventurous, a Pathfinder actual play of the War for the Crown adventure path, and Stellar, a Starfinder actual play of the Against the Aeon Throne adventure path.  Perhaps most famously, we record and release Paizo-hosted Gen Con and PaizoCon seminars as part of our Con Coverage going back to 2011.
