Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.

Another Gen Con in the books. And from what I gather looking at the reactions online, it seemed to be a good one. A couple of years ago, Perram and I talked about feeling like we took Gen Con for granted, and how turning it into a work trip took away from our ability to make the most of the best four days in gaming. Well Perram finally got to experience Gen Con as an attendee for the first time in years. KD owes so much of our past Gen Con coverage to the work he and the KD Con Team put in over the years, so it’s worth acknowledging again.

This year, Vanessa Hoskins wore the press badge. Our slogan for Gen Con and PaizoCon has been “we con when you can’t” for a long time now, since before virtual con experiences existed. And since this year I couldn’t, I get to con vicariously through Vee.

The staff has the option to take it easy this week to recover, so there may be a few gaps in our usual release schedule.

Know Direction 282 Live – Gen Con 2022 and Rage of Elements

I mentioned in the editorial that I’m excited to hear about Vanessa’s Gen Con 2022 experience, but I also can’t wait to hear her thoughts on the 2e kineticist playtest. Not only is the new class the biggest news out of the con, with the double whammy of the playtest already being live as of yesterday, but Vee’s synonymous with her love of the kineticist and work on the Legendary Games third party version of the class. Plus, Alex makes his first KD prime appearance in a long time. He shared his expletive-heavy real time reaction to the playtest document in the KD staff channels so I knew he was eager to talk about the class.
