Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.
Sorry folks, I’m kicking back against another deadline and don’t have time for much of an editorial this week. A few programing notes:
- This would normally be a Know Direction: Beyond week, but Alex, James, and Vanessa are coordinating content for an episode that can’t happen this week, would be too late in one month, but the 27th would be just right.
- I won’t be able to edit Adventurous for tomorrow.
Hopefully that’s the only changes to expect from this week’s Know Direction Network content.
Speaking of Network content, here’s a recap of the podcasts and blogs from last week at the Know Direction Network:
Recap of April 4th to April 8th
What happened last week on knowdirectionpodcast.com and twitch.tv/knowdirection?
Monday, April 4th
Is it just me, or did Paizo sneak out that the collected edition of Abomination Vaults would be adapted to 5e? No press release or social media post, just a product page. Maybe they underestimated the reaction it would get, or maybe they knew exactly what a portion of that reaction would look like. Either way, they went small, and the reaction went big. So Ron Lundeen joined Luis and Vanessa to talk about it (as well as the 2e version, and, of course, Vanessa’s contribution as the author of volume 2: Hands of the Devil).
This episode included an odd trope of RPG storytelling: Stephanie missed the previous recording, meaning Kaholo showed up primed for a fight while everyone else was badly beaten and barely standing.
Now You Know – Fact From Fools
By Ryan Costello
For fear that we flew to close to the sun with our pranks (and therefore our wings froze, since the upper atmosphere is cold), I pull back the curtain on what of our content from the week before was an April Fool’s joke.
Tuesday, April 5th
Vanessa, Dustin, and Alex discuss Pathfinder VTT options while Luis acts like Paizo’s not about to drop a major announcement about a partnership with Foundry.
As someone playing in an Abomination Vaults campaign, I’m impressed by how little this interview spoiled of the adventure.
Eldritch Excursion – Mean Dream Machine
By Nate Wright
Nate turns dreams into 2e content.
Wednesday, April 6th
Danielle speaks with Amelie Le-Roche about Synchronized, a team memory game about synchronized swimming. While I found the idea clever and the rules well executed, I got anxious just listening to Amelie talk about trying to memorize a routine faster than the other team. Not my kind of game, but maybe yours.
Thursday, April 7th
That’s three weeks of Digital Divination content in a row, made possible by collaborating with the Legend Lore cast. See how important teamwork is?
Preview of April 11th to April 15th
This is back to Block 2 of our 2-block schedule.
Monday, April 11th
They could have avoided this fight if they just told Luis that they already beat the undead coutl when he asked if anyone remembers last sessing.
Now You Know – Busy Again, Again
By Ryan Costello
Tuesday, April 12th
Scott D Young GMs the old Adventurous crew through a modified version of an adventure he wrote for Paizo, Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-17: Lost Maid of Anactoria.
I’m adding this to the preview of the week’s content, but as I said, I’m not confident I’m getting this out.
