Now You Know – The Schedule Shuffle

Every week, Now You Know recaps the Know Direction content of the past week, previews the Know Direction content of the week to come, and shares the thoughts on the state of the network from the director of operations, Ryan Costello.

Did you wake up this morning, open your podcatcher, see the latest episode of Intrepid Heroes, and and think it was Friday? It’s not, but you’re justified for your confusion. As foretold last week,

The Know Direction Network schedule moved around to accommodate Know Direction’s new recording time (new episode TONIGHT!), as well as the new Essence20 content. Most of the changes affected the podcast releases. Going forward, here’s when you can expect the Know Direction Network Content:

A few notes:

  • Mondays are once again Actual Play day for the network.
  • The Intrepid Heroes/Valiant release dates now line up, like Digital Divination and Legend Lore. Basically, twice a week, you’re getting either John Godek or Luis Loza.
  • Speaking of Legend Lore, I may have missed a branding opportunity by not having it release the same day as More Lore…
  • What’s Basic Training and 3.I.JOE? They’re my new Essence20 G.I. JOE blogs. Between now and the release of the G.I. JOE RPG, I’ll be sharing the history of the brand and setting information in Basic Training. Once the G.I. JOE RPG releases (currently scheduled for early Summer, but the global shipping situation undercuts any attempt to schedule a firm date), I’ll switch to 3.I JOE, which is like the G.I. JOE equivalent of Iconic Design, except it covers three builds instead of one.
  • Although on the schedule, Upshift does not debut until January 26th.
  • Block 2 Tuesday is the only day without a podcast release (although, realistically, most Block 2 Fridays that aren’t Know Direction Beyond weeks will also go Geek Togetherless). If we get Adventurous back in the rotation like we’re planning, it’ll most likely slot in there.

Speaking of the content, here’s a recap of everything that came out last week on the Know Direction Network:

Now You Know – The Schedule Shuffle
By Ryan Costello

If the O’Donnell side of my family has an anthem, it’s The Harlem Shuffle. And if I had even the slightest confidence that the Pathfinder RPG audience and people who know The Harlem Shuffle crossover, I’d have filled this space with modified Harlem Shuffle lyrics.

Know Direction 267 – Monsters of Myth Breakdown

One of the questions we had about bringing Luis on as a KD co-host was how he’d balance that role and his status as a developer on Paizo’s Lost Omens line. Well, we’re going to find out in his first episode.

You may have noticed that Nate just released an Eldritch Excursion. The holiday hiatus caused some confusion about when his article was due. We’re working it out, but don’t be surprised if he skips this week’s EE.

Now you know,
Ryan Costello

Ryan Costello

What started as one gamer wanting to talk about his love of a game grew into a podcast network. Ryan founded what would become the Know Direction Podcast network with Jason "Jay" Dubsky, his friend and fellow 3.5 enthusiast. They and their game group moved on to Pathfinder, and the Know Direction podcast network was born. Now married and a father, Ryan continues to serve the network as the director of logistics and co-host of Upshift podcast, dedicated to the Essence20 RPG system he writes for and helped design. You can find out more about Ryan and the history of the network in this episode of Presenting: http://knowdirectionpodcast.com/2021/01/presenting-ryan-costello/
