Farewell to the Forums

Over the history of the site, the forums played an important part of our community. But as our Facebook community grew, and our new site supported comment sections… the use of the forums has trickled to a near stand still. The fact that they were lost for a few months probably didn’t help either. Now we’re facing a constant battle with forum spammers, and we can’t really justify the time and cost in combating that. So, today we’re saying goodbye to the forums.

You’ll still be able to talk with each other here on our site in our comments sections! We recommend you do, we want to hear from you. And our Facebook community is stronger than ever, you can find us there as well.

Thank you all for your understanding.

Before Perram joined Know Direction as the show’s first full time co-host, the podcast could have best been describe as a bunch of Pathfinder RPG stuff. Perram brings a knowledge of and love for Golarion to Know Direction, something any Pathfinder podcast is lacking without. On top of being a man on the pulse of the Pathfinder campaign setting, Perram is the founder of the superlative site for Pathfinder spellcasters, Perram’s Spellbook, a free web application that creates customized spell cards.

Us to. We had a digital candlelight vigil.

And by “we,” I mean “me.” And by “candlelight vigil,” I mean, “I totally posted a few frownie faces in Facebook chat when we made the decision.”

Saddened but I still have the memories of the old forum. Now I will stomp on those memories with the Know Direction Facebook postings and comments we leave on the websites.

I’ve been wondering if you’re still working on the Perram’s Spellbook application, specifically the second version?

Just wanted to say for those of us who don’t do facebook, this is particularly painful. Comments are useful for articles, but not everything relates to articles.

For instance, who is going to PaizoCon? I’d like to know – but the odds of me finding this comment section again to get an answer are minimal.
