  1. Please note that your latest podcast upload shows up as not found (404) on your webpage and will not download in my feed catcher .

Hope you can fix this soon as I’m looking forward to this episode. 🙂

  2. Yep, get playback error in my feed.

  3. Great episode, listened to it in my car on my iphone with no problem.

I think the Dimension Door is a great idea. I do wish you would add:

Ideas for running a campaign in this territory levels 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, etc. Land of Linnorm Kings seems like a place where a 1st level character would die as soon as they took a breath.

For the next Dimension Door, might I suggest Andoran? Plenty of avail material, more of a whack-a-mole campaign setting than a “the whole land is against you” setting.

It won’t be Andoran, but we can totally do Andoran in the future because there’s a campaign setting book coming out in the next few months.

I really like the concept of Andoran (it caters to my inner Chaotic Good self), so you can expect us to talk about it after we both get the book and have time to absorb its flavorful goodness.

I really like the concept, I think it has a lot of leg.I have been waiting for something like this. Cheliax would be my choice for the next episode.

Anthony and I have talked about it, and while Cheliax is on our list we want to wait and see if Paizo ends up releasing a 64-page campaign setting product for Cheliax before we do it. Hell’s Rebels is an obvious time to create such a product, and if they do, we don’t want to miss talking about whatever awesome details they choose to include in that theoretical tome.

We have our next region chosen, and we’ve just about decided on the region after that one.

  5. Hi! Great episode! I really like to hear your opinion on Golarion Setting regions. But i would like to hear more about particular denizen of the subject area; for instance, talking about the Linnorn Realm and not going deep into Fafnheir is a capital omission.

Thanks again, Golarion is such an amazingly rich setting.

I mentioned him briefly, although you’re right in that I never call him out by name. (I just say, “The Father of Linnorms” a few times.)

In truth, there’s a LOT to cover in even one of those 64-page books, and Anthony and I focused on the stuff that would try to get someone who hasn’t even heard of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings interested. We gave ourselves space to talk about one character, and ultimately agreed that White Estrid was more interesting than Fafnheir. Of course, this episode also had to be shorter because Anthony was being buried alive by snow even as we were recording!

In the future, you can likely expect our Dimension Door segments to be longer; we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about them and are happy to see that people are as excited about Dimension Door as we are. But ultimately, we’ve only got 45 minutes (any longer would be a nightmare for me to edit) and we’re going to have to make some tough calls about what to shout-out to and what not to shout-out to.

      • Great! I know this segment was short compared to what we should expect from the next ones. I like the idea of Dimensional Door, i like it a lot. And don’t get me wrong, i really enjoyed this episode as a hardcore pathfinder fan, i had a lot of fun with your approach on the region. It just happens that i’m a bestiaryworm. Keep it up!

        Sorry about my english!

    Also of note as far as sorce material;
the Part 2 of Jade Reagent, “Adventure Path #50, Night of Frozen Shadows” takes place entirely within the Land of the Linnorm Kings. It also contains the gazetteer for Kalsgard.

  7. I really enjoyed the show. Even though I’ve had this setting book (and others) for a while, I have trouble finding the time to sit down and read them cover-to-cover. Putting this kind of information in an audio format is really valuable to me, even if you are just hitting the highlights.

Regarding whether linnorms are a “real” creatures, Wikipedia points to the Midgard Serpent as being an example of a “lindworm” (linnorm in Norwegian) in mythology.

  8. Awesome show, Just a quick note. The Jade Regent adventure path has a lot of extra material for LOTLK. My group had fun there.

  9. The Linnorms aren’t a new for Pathfinder creature. They are models the northern European dragons, Lindworm in English and German from Linnormr or Linnorm from old norse and other scandinavian languages. (I was actually working on a Mythic Sweden setting monster set when the linnorm monster manual came out.)

  10. This is a great segment! I have been playing an Ulfen for 7 levels and he never really developed a background more than “dragon viking warrior.” This was able to point me in the right direction to get a great concept (albeit 7 levels a little late.) I look forward to many more of these. You guys are doing a great job with the private sanctuary!

  11. Good Stuff!!!! Please continue….Numeria or maybe something in the Mwangi Expanse would be good
